Found along the scenic Hood River Fruit Loop, this charming country store celebrates the bounty of the local fall harvest with a tempting array of seasonal fall treats.

Apple Valley Country Store is more than just a place to grab a delicious bite full of fall flavors—it's a piece of local history. For nearly 30 years this cozy little store has been making small-batch jams, syrups, pie fillings, and more, all crafted from the abundant fruits grown in the Hood River Valley. Every day, the store bakes fresh fruit pies, which are also available frozen so you can enjoy them hot from your own oven at home.

As summer fades into fall at the Apple Valley Country Store, the daily menu is packed with fresh-picked local pears, pear pies, scones, cookies, and little hand pies that make for perfect autumn comfort food.

And if you're in the mood for something cool and creamy, the pumpkin milkshakes are a delicious way to enjoy the season.

On weekends, the offerings get even sweeter with specialties like their famous Pear Dumplings, gooey pumpkin cinnamon rolls, and warm, comforting cobblers and crisps.

The store itself is found just a stone's throw away from Hood River by Tucker Bridge, and is surrounded by pretty trees that are bursting with fall color in autumn. It's a great place to stop off for a fall treat. On nice days you can have a seat outside at one of the many picnic tables and benches.

One of the highlights of visiting Apple Valley at any time of the year is the chance to sample the many flavors of their homemade jams and jellies. With a wide variety to choose from, it's easy to find a new favorite.

When you stop by in the fall you may even be lucky enough to find some pumpkin butter, apple butter, or pear butter in stock! These jams and jellies make a great gift come Christmas time, but they're so tasty that you might have a hard time saving them until the holidays.

Along the way, you'll find over 30 farm stands, wineries, cideries, and more, all set against a backdrop of breathtaking orchards and mountain views. The Fruit Loop showcases the valley’s rich agricultural heritage, with acres of apples, pears, and cherries ripe for the picking.
