PORTLAND, Ore. — Ready or not, here comes the snow. The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a winter storm warning for the high Cascades in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon Friday, and is in effect from noon Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday.

According to meteorologists, we could get up to 1 to 2 feet of snow could fall at elevations above 5,000 feet in Southwest Washington, and above 5,500 feet in Northwest Oregon.

The snow is expected to taper off Sunday as the air temperature warms, gradually turning from snow into light rain.
