BEND, OR. — As the community continues to mourn the heartbreaking tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary School, Oregonians are coming together to support the family of a 7-year-old child who remains in critical condition following Thursday’s shooting.

A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Bend resident Darci Moreau, has gained tremendous support as donations continue to pour in. According to the campaign, the family is facing mounting expenses while remaining close to their hospitalized child, including travel, lodging, lost wages, and everyday household responsibilities.

The child’s identity has not been publicly released, and the family’s privacy remains important during this incredibly difficult time. While the fundraiser’s connection to the family has not been independently verified, the response reflects a community eager to offer support.

For those wishing to contribute, donations can be made through the Support Family of Injured Silver Rail Child fundraiser.

Our hearts remain with this child, their loved ones, and every family affected by this tragedy.
