Lincoln City Oregon 2022 Fall Kite Festival to Return in October

If you're looking for an excuse to head to the Oregon Coast soon, you won't want to miss the Kite Festival in Lincoln City as we head into fall 2022. Held on the beach at the D River State Recreation Site, the annual Fall Kite Festival is a longstanding family vacation tradition. Experience two days of kite-flying activities and let your heart soar!

Lincoln City Kite Festival Activities

Enjoy exciting kite demonstrations by experts, kite-making, a parade, and of course the colorful, giant kites floating above the beach! The Fall Kite Festival is an event like no other, with brilliant shapes and colors filling up the sky for the whole weekend.

Children and adults alike love to gaze up at the enormous colorful themed kites soaring through the skies.

According to the official site, the event schedule will be updated as more details become available and will take place October 1-2. The following is the previous Fall Kite Festival schedule.

11am - 4pm: Kids Kite Making at the Lincoln City Outlets. Build your own kite in Suite 213 next to Perfumania.

2:30pm - 5:30pm: Kite Fliers Reception at the Lincoln City Outlets. Come meet the fliers and take a selfie! Located in Suite 213 next to Perfumania.

Saturday & Sunday

10am: Opening Announcements
10am-12:30pm: Performance by Featured Fliers
11am-11:15am: Kite Flier Memorial
12:30pm-1pm: Running of the Bols. Race in the sand while strapped to a parachute kite.
10am-2pm: Free Kids Kite Making Workshop—make your own paper kite.
1pm-4pm: Performance by Featured Fliers
2pm-2:30pm: Kids and Kites Parade on the Beach
4pm: Festival closes

ALL DAY: Learn the fun AND the safe way to enjoy the beach presented by the North Lincoln Fire and Rescue.

ALL DAY: Kids Passports: Collect autographs from the Featured Fliers to win great prizes.

ALL DAY: BIG show kites adorn the Lincoln City skies.

The schedule is subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control, including weather. Times are approximate.

Parking At The Kite Festival

Parking is available at the Lincoln City Community Center and Lincoln City Outlets. Free shuttle service is available at both locations and run continuously from 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday. Attendees can download a copy of the parking guide here. Public transportation is available through Lincoln County Transit on Saturday.
