For many people it's not really a trip to the Oregon coast until they stop for fresh seafood. Everyone has their favorite seafood dish, from fish and chips to fish tacos and delicious clam chowder. If you're headed through Gold Beach and are looking for the perfect place to stop off and grab a bite to eat, Woggy's is a local favorite and we can't recommend it enough.
Woggy's Fish And Chips In Gold Beach, Oregon
Gold Beach is a cute little coastal town where the Rogue River meets the Pacific ocean. Fishing is life in this small fishing community, but there are a lot of things for visitors to do if you know where to look. With several beaches and nearby trails to explore, visitors like to come for a relaxing weekend, or a weekend full of adventure. While there are several restaurants in town worth eating at, we think that Woggy's is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat on your way to the beach or on your way back from hiking. Getting fresh fish and chips or some mini clam strips with homemade fries and coleslaw and taking your meal out to a scenic beach to take in the views sounds like the perfect day to me.
If you're not sure what to get when you arrive at Woggy's food truck, we recommend the fish and chips with coleslaw. The fish is locally caught rockfish and is served with homemade cocktail sauce or tarter sauce. This is a local favorite, and keeps people coming back time and again.
Another local favorite is the fried fish tacos. You'll get two deep fried rockfish tacos topped with cheese, cabbage, onion, tomato and cilantro along with homemade white taco sauce. They also have shrimp tacos, or Baja tacos. The Baja tacos are blackened fish on a corn tortilla and topped with coleslaw. So many delicious options!
Fish burritos and fish sandwiches are also on the menu, along with the fish or shrimp finacho (fish or shrimp on a bed of fresh fries and lots of tasty toppings)! Clam chowder isn't a regular menu item, though it is frequently a special and is a local favorite!
If seafood really isn't your thing and your family is begging to stop at Woggy's, they also have burgers and fries, chicken strips and corn dogs. The Ortega burger is especially good and is topped with fresh grilled green chilies and jack cheese.
