There's no shortage of fun things to do whether you're in need of a family fun day, catching the big game with your buddies, or simply looking for a way to cure boredom, Big Al's has you covered!
The Story Of How It All Began
Al and Sandee Kirkwood were just two grandparents (and real estate developers) who were looking for a local place they could take their grandchildren that felt safe, fun and had something to do for everyone.
After lots of research and a bit of traveling, they came to realize that what they envisioned didn't exist, and shortly thereafter Big Al's was born. Their first location opened in Vancouver in 2006 and was the first of its kind to combine bowling lanes, an arcade and a sports-book style restaurant under one roof. After four years of success they opened their second location in Beaverton, and has since added three more locations across two states.
Bowling And Games Galore
The first thing to know about Big Al's is there is no shortage of bowling lanes. They feature 42 lanes, 12 of which are plush VIP lanes and all of which have giant screen projectors above, for a fun eye-catching experience. Head in on Saturdays and Sundays between 1-4 and experience "Galaxy Bowling".
Low lighting and black lights create a fun atmosphere where dancing is highly encouraged. Big Al's also loves to give back to the community, and every year starting in June kids bowl free all summer long. For more information on how to sign your kiddo up click here.
After a round or two of bowling check out the 7,000 sq. ft. arcade where you will find over 200 of the latest and greatest games as well as classic arcade fare. Win big and cash in on their fully stocked rewards redemption center.
The Ultimate Place To Watch The Game
If you enjoy watching sports on giant screens while eating delicious food, then you are in luck! At Big Al's you will find a sports themed restaurant with over 25 beers on tap, a full bar, a menu of mouthwatering food and an enormous 14ft x 55ft big screen to catch the game.
Perched above the restaurant is a sky box type lounge called the "CaddyShack". You will find pool tables, darts, arcade games and more, all with a giant window looking down into the action below. Guests 21 and over only, allowed in the "CaddyShack" bar.
When dining here make sure to bring a big appetite! They are famous for their giant piled high nachos. Make sure to bring a friend or two or three to help lighten the task of making those disappear.
They also serve up super tasty burgers, if you can't decide on which to choose, feel free to build your own.
