You Didn't Mention My City, So Where Can I Eat This Thanksgiving?

If we didn't mention your city and you're looking for a local place to eat out on Thanksgiving or get a prepared meal, there are a few things you can try:

  • Call restaurants and resorts in your area to ask if they'll be open on Thanksgiving day, and if they'll be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
  • Ask your local grocery store that has a deli such as Albertsons, Roth's, Fred Meyers, and Walmart to see if they'll be selling pre-made Thanksgiving meals that you can take home. Many stores aren't open on Thanksgiving or have shortened hours, but still sell meals you can take home the day before to re-heat.
  • Another option (though less festive than a turkey with all the trimmings), would be to pick up a cooked rotisserie chicken or two the day before if your local grocery store isn't open on Thanksgiving, and then prepare some of the sides like mashed potatoes and gravy at home.
  • If you want to make a meal at home, but can't afford a turkey this year, consider calling your local food bank and other local organizations like St. Vincent de Paul. If they can't provide you with a turkey or ham to cook, they may know of other local organizations that can.

Whether you’re planning a cozy at-home holiday or a festive outing, our list of restaurants and offerings can help make Thanksgiving a low-stress holiday this year. From gourmet plated dinners to family-style buffets and take-home feasts, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to call ahead to confirm details and secure your spot for a memorable holiday meal!
