The Lodge Restaurant In Oregon Was Recently Named One Of America’s Most Beautiful Places To Dine

Recently The Lodge Restaurant at Black Butte Ranch near Sisters was named one of America's 50 most beautiful restaurants. With views of Broken Top, Mount Washington and the Three Sisters, it's easy to see why this restaurant is not only the focal point of the ranch, but a space that draws visitors in time and again from all over the Pacific Northwest.

Ponderosa pines, wide open spaces, and panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains are just a few of the reasons that people have been coming to live and vacation at Black Butte Ranch for over 50 years now. Once a cattle, sheep and horse ranch, this working ranch became an 1,800 acre unincorporated private resort community with boundless outdoor activities and eating establishments.

Most of us have heard of or been to Sunriver, a similar resort community in central Oregon, but many forget about or don't know about Black Butte Ranch and it's stunning views just eight miles northwest of Sisters. With an average of 160 days of sunshine a year, this is the perfect spot to take a family vacation or go on a romantic getaway.

How far is Sisters from Salem, Oregon? Sisters and Black Butte Ranch is a two hour drive from Salem. It's also just a two hour drive from Eugene, and only a thirty minute drive from Bend!

The Lodge Restaurant is nestled in a grove of Ponderosa pines and features gorgeous panoramic views of the surrounding area.

What mountains can you see from The Lodge at Black Butte Ranch? You can see the Three Sisters, Mount Washington, and Broken Top from the Lodge at Black Butte Ranch.

The Lodge is situated at the foot of Black Butte, which is an extinct stratovolcano, and is surrounded by the Deschutes National Forest, and private properties. There's a lot to do and see nearby, including the town of Sisters.

The Lodge was recently renovated and features gorgeous woodwork and stone fireplaces, which serve to bring the outdoors inside to diners, along with the many windows that show off the view.

The food at The Lodge Restaurant can be described as creative fine dining with a Northwest flair. You'll find delicious starters like Mushroom Fettuccini (served up with truffle toast, a quail egg, parmesan and thyme), and Crispy Oysters with vegetables escabeche and charred lemon aioli.

For your main course, I highly recommend the Carlton Farms Pork Shank with creamy mascarpone polenta, olives, garlic, tomato, and gremolata. Your taste buds will be in heaven, and there will be just enough room left for dessert, (caramel apple bread pudding with vanilla ice cream anyone)?

Another great entrée is the Smoked Sweet Potato Cannelloni, served with brussels sprouts, quinoa, red pepper and tequila-chive crema. Delicious!
