Those of us who grew up in the 80s share a lot of cultural touchstones, but few reach the level of the seminal masterpiece, The Goonies. If you’re anything like me and can easily roll off Goonies quotes, have always longed to stumble upon the treasure of One Eyed Willy, and you like beer—then the McMenamins GoonFest Brewfest is for you!

On Saturday, June 8 at the Gearhart Hotel is the inaugural GoonFest Brewfest, a soon-to-be perennial favorite for all things Goonies. From 1:00pm to 7:00pm out on the lawn you can partake in all sorts of fun including lawn games, putting competitions, 80s nostalgia, food specials, and if you have the McMenamins Passport you can participate in a special Goonies-themed Passport discovery hunt!

And if that’s not enough, there’s gonna be lots of beer! There will be 19 different McMenamin’s beers flowing as well as other Northwest breweries who’ve concocted their own Goonies-inspired brews and ciders to satisfy the masses. Anyone can get into this family-friendly event for free, but if you want to drink you’ll need to purchase a ticket. Tickets cost $25 if you buy them ahead of time online but go up to $30 if you buy them at the door. With your ticket you get 10 tokens and a commemorative Brewfest glass.

The Gearhart Hotel is one of McMenamins most gorgeous properties and sits just north of Seaside on the coast. If you’ve never been before, now is the perfect time to remedy that. The original hotel was built back in 1890 and though many versions of it have come and gone over the years, it still retains its unique charm. Plus, it’s got an 18-hole golf course on the property that’s one of the oldest in the western United States.

Parking for the event is complimentary, but will be on a first-come, first-serve basis so get there early to snag a spot. And maybe while you’re on the coast, take the 20 minute drive up to Astoria to see the original Goonies house and do the Truffle Shuffle to round out your day.

Where: Gearhart Hotel at 1157 N. Marion Ave. Gearhart
When: Saturday, June 8th from 1:00pm to 7:00pm
What: Only the coolest Goonies-themed beerfest in Oregon!
