SILETZ, OR — Authorities and local volunteers are urgently searching for 2-year-old Dane Paulsen, who went missing from a residence near milepost 21 on Siletz River Highway on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the missing child at approximately 4:25 p.m. and immediately launched a search operation. Multiple agencies, including Siletz Valley Fire, Oregon State Police, Newport Police Department, Lincoln City Police Department, and Lincoln County Search and Rescue, have joined the efforts to locate Dane.
Search Efforts Underway
Emergency personnel began searching on foot and by air as soon as they arrived. Drones equipped with cameras and thermal imaging have been deployed to scan the surrounding terrain, while ground teams have combed through the property and nearby areas.
Dane was last seen playing in the yard of the residence before disappearing. At the time, he was wearing a gray fuzzy hoodie with ears, black pants, and blue-and-white shoes. He has brown hair shaved on the sides and long on top and green eyes.
Vehicle of Interest Identified
Investigators are also seeking information regarding a late 1990s gold-colored station wagon, which was seen in the area around the time Dane went missing. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have seen this vehicle or has any relevant information to come forward.
