On a recent trip to the Oregon Coast, we made a point to stop by Arnie’s Cafe in Warrenton, a cozy, unassuming spot that came highly recommended by locals. Before exploring Fort Stevens State Park, we were looking for a hearty breakfast to fuel our day, and Arnie’s delivered beyond our expectations.
The cafe has been a beloved part of the community for decades, and you can feel the history when you walk in. Originally known as The Sea Breeze in the 1950s, this spot has gone through several transformations, from The Donut Hole to The Ponderosa, before finally becoming Arnie’s Cafe under the ownership of Crystal and Michael Green. The Greens took over in 2014 and have kept the homestyle charm alive, even expanding into a larger space in 2020 to accommodate the growing number of diners.
As we settled in, we couldn’t help but admire the laid-back vibe and friendly service. But it was the food that really stole the show. We had heard about their massive pancakes, and let me tell you, they live up to the hype. These pancakes are the size of a dinner plate—fluffy, light, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Normally, I’m not much of a pancake person, but these were so good, I couldn’t stop eating.
Of course, Arnie’s is more than just pancakes. Their menu is full of classic homestyle breakfast favorites, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. The biscuits and gravy were another highlight—soft, buttery biscuits smothered in rich, flavorful gravy that had us savoring every bite. We also tried their eggs Benedict, which came with perfectly poached eggs and a smooth hollandaise sauce. If you’re more into savory breakfast options, their hearty omelettes, filled with fresh ingredients and served with crispy hash browns, are a great choice.
Lunch is just as tempting at Arnie’s. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches, from the classic turkey club to their fan-favorite Reuben.
