In November 2018, 59 year old Maria Del Carmen Quintana was last seen at her house in Tillamook County, Oregon not too far from Highway 53, and then she vanished without a trace. Maria was considered endangered, and the search for her continued into December of 2018 when search and rescue teams joined the search for her. Despite efforts by the Sherriff's office, search and rescue, her family, and community volunteers, searchers were unable to find her.

Seven years later, human remains found in a heavily wooded area near Maria's house have been identified as belonging to Maria Del Carmen Quintana. Investigators have not yet said how Maria died. A search of the site where she was found yielded no evidence.

Our hearts and minds go out to Maria's family and friends.
