Heading out to Astoria for a fun filled weekend? There's an awesome little restaurant hidden in Knappa you should stop at along the way. Just 20 minutes east of Astoria along Old US Highway 30, you'll find a cool spot that's been serving up hearty meals for half a century. Good food and a welcoming atmosphere along with killer burgers and breakfasts make The Logger Restaurant a stand out spot.

The Logger Restaurant in Knappa is a cozy, friendly spot where the food is always delicious and the vibe is always welcoming. They've been a local favorite for 50 years and with good reason.

Where is Knappa? Knappa, Oregon is about 20 minutes East of Astoria. It's located on the Columbia River.

If you're lucky to arrive to The Logger early enough in the day when they're still serving breakfast, then the Ultimate Logger Breakfast is the way to go. It’s a hearty plate of hash browns, ham, sausage, bacon, green peppers, onions, cheddar, and two eggs cooked to your liking. It’s the kind of classic breakfast that fuels your day.

Another great breakfast done right is biscuits and gravy just like grandma used to make. It costs a few extra dollars to add eggs, but I love getting scrambled eggs with my biscuits and smothering them in delicious gravy.

For those who love a good corned beef hash, The Logger’s version is a game-changer. House-smoked corned beef is combined with home fries, onions, peppers, and eggs, served with your choice of toast or a biscuit. It's a hearty, flavorful dish that will make you want to stop in every time you pass by The Logger.

The Logger is well known locally and with frequent travelers to the Astoria-Warrenton area for its handmade Angus burgers, which are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

The Western Burger is a double quarter-pounder topped with crispy bacon, tangy barbecue sauce, melted cheddar cheese, and an onion ring for an extra delicious crunch. It's a taste explosion that’s pretty hard to beat.

If you're really hungry, the Ultimate Burger is where it's at. This behemoth is a double half-pounder loaded with bacon, Swiss and American cheese, grilled mushrooms, and onions. It's the kind of burger that demands respect (and a big appetite).

If you’re more of a sandwich person, the Smoked BBQ Pork Melt is a must-try. Slow-smoked pork, melted cheddar, an onion ring, and barbecue sauce all come together on a garlic-toasted roll. It’s smoky, cheesy, and downright delicious!

Tip: The Logger is just minutes from the Columbia River, and the Lewis and Clark National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge is often forgotten about and is rarely visited by people. Made up of 20 island stretching out over more than twenty miles in the Columbia, this is a great place to explore, go hiking and boating. Instead of just passing through on your way to and from Astoria, make Knappa your destination for the day while you explore the refuge. You can start and end your adventure with a good meal from The Logger!
