The Story Of How It All Began

Al and Sandee Kirkwood were just two grandparents (and real estate developers) who were looking for a local place they could take their grandchildren that felt safe, fun and had something to do for everyone.

After lots of research and a bit of traveling, they came to realize that what they envisioned didn't exist, and shortly thereafter Big Al's was born. Their first location opened in Vancouver in 2006 and was the first of its kind to combine bowling lanes, an arcade and a sports-book style restaurant under one roof. After four years of success they opened their second location in Beaverton, and has since added three more locations across two states.

Bowling And Games Galore

The first thing to know about Big Al's is there is no shortage of bowling lanes. They feature 42 lanes, 12 of which are plush VIP lanes and all of which have giant screen projectors above, for a fun eye-catching experience. Head in on Saturdays and Sundays between 1-4 and experience "Galaxy Bowling".

Low lighting and black lights create a fun atmosphere where dancing is highly encouraged. Big Al's also loves to give back to the community, and every year starting in June kids bowl free all summer long. For more information on how to sign your kiddo up click here.
