For a day in Bend, choose breakfast or lunch near the part of town you already plan to visit. Jake’s and Bend Burger Company are east of the river; the Victorian Cafe is on Galveston, while Rancher Butcher Chef makes more sense as a planned Northwest Crossing dinner. Head to Tumalo for an old-school steakhouse, Redmond for pizza in a former church, or Sisters for a bakery stop and Himalayan food. If you are staying in Sunriver, its own breakfast, pizza, and dinner options can save you a drive back to Bend.
This directory starts in Bend and includes nearby Deschutes County communities within roughly 30 miles. Tumalo, Redmond, Sisters, and Sunriver are separate destinations, not Bend neighborhoods. Actual driving distance depends on your starting point and route; do not treat a Bend mailing address as proof that a business is close to downtown.
Menus, prices, hours, and ownership can change. Follow the restaurant’s own links where provided, or contact the business before a special trip. Older TOL stories are background reporting, not a promise that every dish or schedule is unchanged.

Rancher Butcher Chef is a planned steak dinner in Bend. Tumalo Feed Company offers a different, Western steakhouse setting outside town. South Bend Bistro is in Sunriver despite its name. Look at current menus and reservation arrangements before making a special trip.
Grace and Hammer is in Redmond, Martolli’s is in Sisters, and Blondie’s is in Sunriver. Choose the one that fits your route. Blondie’s currently lists carryout and delivery, so plan where you will eat rather than expecting a dining room.
Family-friendly is a meal-planning cue, not a guarantee about high chairs, changing tables, or every seating area. Check accessibility, dietary needs, group reservations, and any age restrictions directly with the restaurant.
Small towns count
Terrebonne, Deschutes Junction, Deschutes River Woods, Three Rivers, and other nearby communities remain on our coverage checklist. La Pine is near the outer edge of the area and is not represented by a qualifying food story in this edition. We add a listing when useful TOL reporting and a verified location support it, rather than filling every town filter with generic recommendations. Prineville and other Crook or Jefferson County communities are outside this Deschutes County directory.
The list is not ranked and is not an exhaustive census of local restaurants. Bend Burger Company and Redmond Burger Company are listed as separate locations so a town filter does not send you to the wrong city.
