Fall is already moving. The America 250 MAiZE on Sauvie Island opened September 5. Yesteryear Farms in Wilsonville opens September 10 with free farm and patch entry. Frog Pond Farm follows on September 18, and September 19 lights up a big metro and valley cluster that includes Bauman’s, Lee Farms, Plumper Farms, and Red Berry Barn. Later openers stretch the map: Mahaffy and Echo on September 25, Smith Rock Ranch on September 26, Fort Vannoy on October 1, and French Prairie Gardens on October 3. How to Choose Your Patch (and Your Pace)
If you are wrangling toddlers, chase shorter lines, animals, and a farm that will not melt down if nap time arrives early. Yesteryear’s free farm and patch entry is the easy budget win. Frog Pond brings llamas into the mix, which is either charming or chaotic depending on your kid’s mood. Plumper keeps the classic Portland stack of maze energy, animals, and pumpkin donuts without requiring a long road trip. Weekday mornings are your friend at the big festival farms.
If you want a scare, pick a haunt night on purpose. Bella Organic runs haunted Friday and Saturday evenings starting September 26, with no haunt on Halloween and a last scare on October 30. Fort Vannoy’s 23 Screams returns across October in Grants Pass. Echo’s Field of Screams lights up October 18, 25, and 31. Teens who want a maze workout without a haunt can head to Sauvie Island for the MAiZE, or save Yesteryear’s 10-acre maze for a Friday or Saturday night.

Dog owners should read the fine print twice. Bauman’s homepage calls the festival dog friendly, and Yesteryear welcomes well-behaved leashed dogs on the property and in the daytime maze. Plumper allows leashed, well-behaved dogs if you keep them close and clean up. Frog Pond allows leashed dogs on the farm, but not in the pumpkin patch, and Bella allows them in the regular maze only. Lee Farms, Red Berry Barn, French Prairie, Packer, the MAiZE, and Smith Rock’s Maize are no-go zones for pets (service animals excepted where the farm says so).

Lee Farms is the Tualatin tradition that locals treat like a seasonal food group. Hayrides, a corn maze, slides, and animals fill the day, and the bakery donuts are the reason plenty of people start arguing about just one more stop on the way home. Pets stay home (ADA service dogs only).

Red Berry Barn is the Sherwood stop for people who came for the baked goods and then accidentally stayed for the maze. The Harvest Festival smell hits before you even park, and the bakery is half the reason people make the Sherwood drive. Leave pets at home and bring an appetite.
The festival is open September 19 through October 31, 2026, with activities generally 9am to 6pm and Halloween hours 9am to 4pm. Thursday through Sunday unlimited activities are $25 ($20 seniors 65+). Frog Pond Farm - Wilsonville
Frog Pond is the Wilsonville farm that feels a little smaller and a little stranger in the best way. Llamas share the spotlight here, and that is the whole personality: animals, pumpkins, and a pace that works when you do not want a mega-festival. Tickets are sold in person only, so you cannot TicketSpice your way out of a line. Leashed dogs are welcome on the farm but not in the pumpkin patch.
The patch opens September 18 and runs through November 1 with weekday hours 9am to 5pm and weekend hours 9am to 6pm. General admission is $16 for ages 2 and up, with an All-In Wristband at $25. Yesteryear Farms - Wilsonville
Yesteryear is the value play and the photo play at the same time. Entry to the farm and pumpkin patch is free, which is rare in a season of wristbands, and the ticketed 10-acre corn maze gives you a reason to linger. Bring the dog for daytime only, and keep the leash short.
Yesteryear opens September 10, 2026, and stays through October 31. Daytime maze pricing starts at $12 for adults 12+ and $8 for kids 3-11 on a single ticket, with Dual Adventure pricing also posted. Sauvie Island is where Portlanders go when they want the farm day to feel like a mini trip. The bridge traffic is real on weekends, the light is different, and you can stack two maze stops without leaving the island. Bella Organic - Sauvie Island
Bella is the island farm that can do wholesome by day and haunt by night. The 2026 corn maze theme is “5 Kind Acts,” the regular maze is already open, and the pumpkin patch joins on September 21. Free hayrides run September 26 through October 31, which is a practical gift if you have little legs and a long field. Leashed dogs are allowed in the regular maze only.
The regular maze is open daily from August 22 through October 31. Daytime maze tickets are $10 Monday through Thursday and $12 Friday through Sunday, with ages 5 and under free. Haunted nights begin September 26 on Friday and Saturday evenings, with prices ranging $35 to $45 by date. There is no haunted maze on Halloween. The MAiZE at The Pumpkin Patch - Sauvie Island
Portland’s original MAiZE is already open, and that is the urgency if you want a maze before the October crush. This year’s theme is America 250. General admission is $10, kids under 5 are free, and pets are not allowed. It is the maze-first stop on the island, sitting next to The Pumpkin Patch’s fields and farm scene.

Bauman’s Harvest Festival - Gervais
Bauman’s is the Willamette Valley heavyweight: cider donuts, pressed cider, a long list of play zones, and a festival that can swallow a whole day. Weekday tickets cover 15 activities. Weekend tickets open the full activity list. Kids 2 and under are free with a paying adult, and the homepage calls the festival dog friendly, which is uncommon at this scale.

It opens later than the metro cluster, which makes it a good October plan after you have already burned through a closer farm. Pets are not allowed. Central Oregon Backdrop
Smith Rock Ranch - Terrebonne
Smith Rock Ranch is the Central Oregon postcard: pumpkins and a big maize under that famous rock-and-Cascades skyline. The 2026 maize theme is 250 Years of Freedom,” and the ranch opens September 26. Fort Vannoy Farms - Grants Pass
Fort Vannoy is the Rogue Valley two-for-one: a daytime festival with an 8-acre corn maze, and 23 Screams after dark. Daytime is the family play. Nighttime is the teen play. Echo Corn Maze - Echo
Echo is a long drive for valley folks and a short tradition for Umatilla County families. General admission is $10 for ages 3 and up. Field of Screams nights are the reason to stay after dark. Friday hours start at 2pm, so this is an afternoon-into-evening plan, not a dawn-patrol farm.

How to Build Your 2026 Farm Crawl
If you only have one metro Saturday, keep it tight. Lee or Red Berry for bakery energy. Frog Pond or Yesteryear for a softer pace. Sauvie Island if you want maze drama and island light. A Wilsonville double is easy: Yesteryear for free patch photos, then Frog Pond for llamas, or the reverse if you want animals first and a cheaper pumpkin stop second.
Heading farther, thread Gervais and St. Paul on a Willamette Valley loop, but do not force both on the same morning. Bauman’s can fill a day by itself. Save French Prairie for an October weekend when pig-race energy sounds fun.
