U.S. — After decades of research, burnout, and failed coping strategies involving expensive apps and oat milk lattes, mental health experts have finally reached a consensus: rewatching The NeverEnding Story is the ultimate emotional reset button.

“It’s cinematic therapy,” said Dr. Elise Monroe, a clinical psychologist and lifelong Falkor fan. “You go in overwhelmed, detached, maybe wondering if anything even matters anymore… and then suddenly you’re sobbing over a horse in a swamp, and somehow, everything does matter again.”

The discovery comes after a nationwide study showed that participants who rewatched The NeverEnding Story while wrapped in a blanket and eating a childhood snack experienced a 67% improvement in mood, emotional clarity, and overall ability to keep it together.

“Artax sinking? That’s your burnout. Atreyu yelling? That’s your inner child. Falkor flying? That’s hope,” said Monroe. “This movie is a psychological buffet.”

Therapists are now advising patients to take a full mental health day that includes The NeverEnding Story, a long nap, and absolutely no scrolling through comment sections.

Meanwhile, sales of tissues, toaster waffles, and oversized sweatpants have seen a sudden and inexplicable surge.

At publishing time, experts were also reviewing the emotional benefits of watching Flight of the Navigator and then taking a walk around the block while listening to the Labyrinth soundtrack.
