Back in January, 2024, an ice storm hit Oregon and caused an estimated $72 million dollars in damage and 15 deaths. With that ice storm came temperatures as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit in Portland. Now, due to high-pressure and a lack of clouds in the sky, Portland is seeing its lowest temps since January's Arctic blast. While the city isn't facing down an ice storm, it still saw a low of 27 degrees Fahrenheit on December 2nd, 2024.

Temperatures have risen since the 2nd by a few degrees, but the ten day forecast is still calling for temps near freezing. Tuesday night it's looking to be as low as 33 degrees in Portland, with lows fluctuating back and forth between 34 and 49 in the next week and a half.

Other parts of the state are currently under a freezing fog advisory, and some parts of Southern Oregon just came out of a four day stretch of freezing fog.
