For many of us, going out to brunch with friends doesn’t really count if there’s not a bloody mary involved. Thankfully, folks in West Eugene can now claim one of the best bloodies in town—or is it the best? Head over to Gryffs today and decide for yourself.
Gryffs Pub was first located in Springfield, but just a couple years ago they opened a second location in West Eugene, an area of town that was in need of new dining options. Since then, the Springfield location has closed, but you can still get the same great pub grub, friendly service and drinks at the Eugene location on Bailey Hill Road.
At this family-friendly pub, you can get great breakfast that’s served every day till 2pm, in addition to the standard but fantastic pub fare of burgers, salads and sandwiches. The food is definitely worth it on its own, but the real stars of the show here are Gryffs cocktails, especially their notoriously good bloody mary.
To start with, they have their very own bloody mary mix that’s just the right blend of sweet, spice, and savory. You can order a standard bloody, or have fun with other options for those who like a little twist to the morning beverages.
Some interesting and delicious choices are the “BSB Bloody Mary” made with brown sugar bourbon, the “Jalapeno Bloody Maria” made with jalapeno tequila, or the “Cucumber Mint Mary” made with Ketel One cucumber mint vodka. However, the real headliner is the “Godfather Bloody Mary” that’s truly an entire meal and thensome in a glass. This baby comes piled high with two sliders, shrimp, bacon, salami and cheese, and an assortment of deep fried treats all with their famous bloody mary mix.

Although the Godfather is an entire breakfast unto itself, you may want other food and Gryffs has got you covered. Most of their menu items are all named after cartoon characters, and for breakfast you can try the Brian Griffin which is pork belly eggs benedict covered in a chipotle garlic hollandaise over potatoes. As a bonus, you can also get this made vegetation with sauteed mushroom, avocado and tomato instead Or for lunch, try one of the juicy burgers like the “Speedy Gonzalez” topped with bacon, jalapenos, cream cheese, and sweet chili sauce, or the “Rick & Morty” made with bacon, pickles, sauteed onions, mayo and Gryff’s famous peanut butter sauce. You can also build your own burger and put anything you want on it including vegetarian options for a black bean patty. Their wood-fired pizza and hearty cobb salads also get rave reviews.
Gryffs is welcoming for kids until 10:00pm, but also has a great happy hour during the week from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and all day Saturday and Sunday where you can get microbrew drafts and wine for $5, cocktails for $6, and food deals on sliders, tots, fried pickle chips, and cheese curds. On the weekends they open a bit earlier (9:00am), so you can get right to work on your hangover with a hot plate of food and of course, a bloody mary!
There’s both indoor and outdoor seating options, and something fun going on every day of the week like $1 wings on Monday, Taco Tuesday with $5 classic margaritas, Thursday night trivia, fish and chips Friday, or Saturday night karaoke.
Come check out one of the newest additions to the West Eugene dining scene and explore Gryffs creative cocktail menu, delicious food, and bloody marys that are sure to amaze you.
