Fire Erupts at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood

GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. — A fire was reported at Timberline Lodge in Government Camp on Thursday night at approximately 9:26 p.m.

Flames were visible from the corner of the building via a live external camera feed.

Responders from the Hoodland Fire District are at the scene addressing the situation.

Situated on Mount Hood's southern slope in Clackamas County, Oregon, Timberline Lodge stands at 6,000 feet above sea level. Constructed in 1937 by local craftsmen during the Great Depression, the lodge spans 55,000 square feet and was designated a national landmark in December 1977.
