A 69-year-old man, Kenneth Gregory Williams, is facing horrifying charges after police say he held a 74-year-old woman hostage in her own home and repeatedly sexually assaulted her for several days. This deeply disturbing incident showcases an appalling level of cruelty and disregard for human life.
On Dec. 23, this predator allegedly took advantage of a vulnerable woman who was simply trying to get home from the grocery store. After seeing her pause to rest from carrying her groceries, Williams approached her under the guise of offering help. Instead of lending a hand with kindness, police say he carried her groceries into her home, barricaded the door, and began a sickening ordeal that lasted for days.
Between Dec. 23 and Dec. 25, police report that Williams repeatedly sexually assaulted the woman, a heinous act that defies comprehension. The victim's bravery in convincing him to leave on Dec. 26 is nothing short of incredible. Once he was gone, she sought medical treatment and reported the assault.
After detectives identified Williams as the suspect, he was arrested on Jan. 5 and booked into the Multnomah County jail on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree coercion, and first-degree burglary. The outrage doesn’t stop there—police say he is also under investigation for rape allegations in another case. Detectives believe there could be even more victims of Williams' vile actions, yet to come forward. Anyone with information should contact Detective Michael Bledsoe at [email protected], referencing case number 24-332946.
This man’s history is a laundry list of criminal behavior that raises serious questions about how he’s been allowed to roam freely. Court records show Williams was arrested for misdemeanor harassment and menacing just six months ago, in June 2024. Back in 2008, he was arrested for coercion and tampering with a witness. Between 1994 and 2008, he racked up multiple arrests for drug-related offenses, robbery, and misdemeanor crimes.
How many chances does someone like this get before they finally face the consequences of their actions? How many lives need to be shattered before we stop allowing repeat offenders to terrorize our communities? It’s infuriating, and this case demands accountability—not just for Williams, but for a system that let him continue this cycle of violence unchecked. This vile act against an elderly woman is unforgivable. Monsters like this don’t deserve a place in our society.
