Today marks exactly one year since Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. A Portland tattoo artist has apparently decided that the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination is a perfectly normal occasion for a tattoo special.
Yes, you read that correctly.
An Instagram account identifying itself as a Portland tattoo artist advertised a “Kirkiversary Special” for September 10, offering customers $50 neck tattoos positioned in the same area where Kirk was fatally shot last year.
Because apparently we’ve reached the point where commemorating the murder of a political figure with discount body art is a promotional strategy.
The advertisement, which began circulating widely across social media, offered customers various tattoo designs with one requirement: they had to be placed on the neck in what the artist referred to as “the exact placement of the kirkhole.”

Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University during his American Comeback Tour.
One year later, the Portland account “blacksctratcher” announced the promotion on Instagram.
“Alright yall here it is,” the post reportedly read. “One year After Kirk CELEBRATION. customs flash whatever. as long as its this placement!!!”
Nothing says respectful political discourse quite like celebrating an assassination with a $50 tattoo special.
The artist’s Instagram bio identified the account as Portland-based and advertised bookings through direct messages. It also described the artist as “BBP certified,” an apparent reference to bloodborne-pathogen safety certification.
The promotion quickly escaped the relatively cozy confines of Instagram and landed in front of a much larger audience after Libs of TikTok shared it Sunday, accusing the tattoo artist of celebrating Kirk’s murder.
Predictably, the internet reacted with all the calm and moderation you’d expect.
The Instagram account reportedly received a wave of angry responses before eventually being switched to private.
That did not, however, appear to inspire much reconsideration.
Instead, the person behind the account reportedly responded Monday with what appeared to be a selfie accompanied by the message:
“I am NEET nothing u do can hurt me repubtards,” followed by a smiling devil emoji.
She then demanded:
“Stop imposing on my freedom of speech NOW.”
And there it is.
The timeless Internet tradition of deliberately provoking thousands of people and then being absolutely stunned when thousands of people notice.
To be clear, freedom of speech does indeed protect Americans’ ability to say offensive, tasteless and downright grotesque things.
It also protects everybody else’s ability to point at those things and say, “What on Earth is wrong with you?”
When Fox News Digital contacted the artist for comment, she reportedly asked whether she would be “compensated” for responding and did not answer a follow-up question.
Turning Point USA did not immediately respond to the outlet’s request for comment.
So there you have it.
One year after a 31-year-old man was assassinated while speaking on a college campus, someone in Portland apparently decided the occasion called for bargain-priced commemorative neck tattoos.
And somehow, this probably won’t even crack the top ten weirdest Portland stories this month.
