ONTARIO, Ore. – The family of 39-year-old Skye Thiel is desperately searching for answers after she vanished in early July, and Ontario police have now launched an official missing person investigation.
According to the Ontario Police Department, the last confirmed sighting of Thiel and the man she is believed to be traveling with was possibly near the Washington-Canada border on July 13. That tip surfaced after The Argus made an inquiry with authorities on Aug. 4, following referrals from county and state law enforcement agencies.
Thiel’s family reported her missing on July 29, saying they hadn’t heard from her since July 8 — an unusually long period of silence for her. Police quickly entered her information into the nationwide missing person database.
Investigators believe Thiel is traveling with her boyfriend, 40-year-old Dustin Walls, in a white 2013 Ford Econoline van with Maryland license plate 2GD2269.
Police say Walls is known to frequent remote outdoor areas and hasn’t been in touch with his own family since June 2025. The pair’s destination is unknown, but recent information suggests the van may have been spotted in Port Angeles, Washington.
Thiel is described as 5-foot-4, with blonde hair and blue eyes, weighing between 153 and 180 pounds.
Ontario Police are working with local, state, and federal agencies to locate her. Anyone with information is urged to call (541) 473-5125 and reference case number 25P06849.
