Originally built in 1888 by Phoenix Iron Works, the bridge was relocated several times before finding its permanent home in Mill City in 1919. Abandoned by Southern Pacific Railroad in the late 1960s, the bridge now serves as a pedestrian and bike path, offering both locals and visitors a scenic view of the North Santiam River below.
