This may top all the glass floats we have seen in Lincoln City. If this treasure hunt wasn't already fun enough, now Finders Keepers just upped their game with special glow-in-the-dark glass floats on Oregon beaches, just in time for Halloween.

The launch for glow-in-the-dark glass floats is slated for October 28 and is said to go until Halloween, Oct 31 of 2022. These special floats are a first, as Finders Keepers have never done this until now. The floats will be hidden on the beaches in Lincoln City, Oregon alongside little ethereal treasures.

Similar to previous glass float drops, they will share different patterns, colors swirls, and concepts with the extra bonus of glowing in the dark. As the agency has mentioned on its blog, the new glowing floats come from The Hot Shop in Newport, a place owned by central Oregon coast glass artist Jeff Hajek.

According to Oregon Beach Connection, Hajek wouldn't share all his secrets as far as what makes these floats glow, however, the process of blowing the glass floats is essentially the same as usual.

“The glow-in-the-dark element is a metal too,” he told Oregon Beach Connection. “It's just another metal that's absorbed in the process.”

The new floats can be found above the high tide line and below the beach embankment. Throughout the day, Finders Keepers will place the floats at random times. For the rest of the year there is expected to be more drops during Thanksgiving and throughout December as well. Hit the link here to read more.

Lincoln City Finders Keepers and Glass Float History

Since 1997, mysterious local folks have been hiding these glass floats on the Lincoln City sands, a throwback to when locals would find vintage Japanese floats washed up from their journey across the Pacific Ocean. These days, local artisans provide treasure that is no less special. Lincoln City was also recently featured as one of the best places to live in Oregon.
