Hot chocolate so thick it's like eating pudding out of a cup. If that didn't make your mouth start to water, maybe the thought of 40 different flavors of chocolate truffles, rich chocolate mochas, or legendary chocolate milkshakes will. Enter the Cannon Beach Chocolate Café. The name alone marks this as a chocolate lovers paradise. I really can't think of a better place to visit on a chilly day at the coast, and once you step inside and see all of the chocolatey goodness they have to offer, I think you'll agree.
Hot Chocolate Lovers Paradise - The Cannon Beach Chocolate Café
While this Chocolate Café is one of the best spots on the coast to buy handmade chocolate, many stop in just for a hot drink to start off their day or to warm up after a chilly day of exploring the coast.
I mentioned the hot chocolate so thick it's like pudding, but I'm not sure you're prepared for this much chocolate bliss until you try it for yourself. It's called Spoon Chocolate and is served with a dollop of whipped cream. To make it extra delightful you can add Mayan spice to it.
If you'd rather drink your hot chocolate instead of eating it with a spoon (though honestly, that spoon chocolate is something else), then try their dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or Mayan spice hot chocolate. All are made with real chocolate milted down with whole milk so they're extra rich and creamy. You won't find them making it from a powdered mix here. If you can't have dairy, they also have oat milk, almond milk, and soy milk available.
Other popular hot drinks that locals and visitors love to stop in for are the dark chocolate mocha, Mayan mocha, cappuccino and Latte.
All of these are made with Illy espresso. They start with 70% Columbian dark chocolate and melt it down into a rich chocolate sauce and then mix it into various espressos they serve up.
Creamy Milkshakes At The Cannon Beach Chocolate Café
Milkshakes are good year round, but I especially love to get one on a hot summer day. The Cannon Beach Chocolate Café has a wide variety to choose from, including Mayan Spice, Chocolate Malt, Hot Fudge Sundae, and Legendary Chocolate.
There's also a milkshake of the week during the summer, with fun flavors like peanut butter Oreo!
Fine Chocolates At The Cannon Beach Chocolate Café
I love hitting up specialty candy stores along the coast and choosing a few different flavors to take home with me.
To me that's half the fun of taking a trip out to the coast. If you're the same way, you definitely won't be disappointed with the variety of chocolates to choose from here.
This cute little café makes chocolate bark, chocolate bars, over forty flavors of truffles, and a variety of other house-made chocolates.
From cute little fish that look like Finding Nemo to lady bugs and chocolate mice, this place feels a little like walking into a magical candy store straight out of Harry Potter.
Take your time and pick out all of your favorite flavors, or be bold and try something new.
Whatever you choose, you'll be inspired to come back every time you're in Cannon Beach to satisfy your chocolate cravings!
