458 overlays 541 throughout this large territory, so both codes may be assigned in the same city.

Oregon dialing rules: use 10 digits
For Oregon local calls, use the area code plus the seven-digit phone number. That means dialing 503-XXX-XXXX, 971-XXX-XXXX, 541-XXX-XXXX, or 458-XXX-XXXX.

458 joins 541

Setting up a phone number after moving to Oregon
Your phone number does not determine where you live. You can often keep an existing mobile number after moving, and a new Oregon number may use either code in the territory where it is assigned.
- Choose the territory, not a single code. Northwest Oregon numbers may be 503 or 971; elsewhere they may be 541 or 458.

No. Caller ID can be spoofed, and legitimate people can retain old phone numbers after moving. If a caller requests money, a code, a password, or urgent action, contact the organization using a number from its official website.
