Last year we brought you news of Costco's Eggnog Liqueur that shoppers were going absolutely wild for. In 2020 it's Trader Joes' turn to bring on their version of this festive concoction, so good you'll want to break out your moose-mug set for it.

Trader Joe's version of Eggnog Liqueur is a blend of spiced rum and brandy along with cinnamon and pure cream. This stuff has more spirit than regular eggnog, coming in at nearly 15% ABV(!). The bottles are a standard 750 mL and only cost $7.99 at Trader Joe’s stores that carry wine. You can simply sip a chilled glass straight as a nightcap, or if you want to make your drink extra special, we recommend grating a little fresh nutmeg on top with some whipped cream. I like to add extra rum or brandy to mine.

Eggnog is perfect for serving over ice and making toasts with (a limited number of) family and friends (thanks, Covid) or sipping quietly while curled up on the sofa. You could also mix things up by replacing the cream or half-and-half in your coffee with eggnog liqueur, or drizzle it over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Eggnog...sweet, creamy, and delicious.

If you're a sucker for homemade and a glutton for punishment in the kitchen, you can try your hand at making your own eggnog and discover more of its history as the quintessential holiday drink here.

And as if it needs to be said, drink responsibly this year guys.
