This hotel showcases Astoria in a way many never thought was possible. When Astoria native Robert Jacob came up with the idea of building the town's first luxury boutique hotel on a 100 year old historic pier 600 feet into the Columbia River, some didn't think it could be done.

The pier was once home to the Union Fisherman's Cooperative Packing Company, and was part of Astoria's history as the one time salmon and tuna canning capital of the world.

While the old pier had to be taken down piece by piece, the pilings driven into the sand were just as sturdy as they had been the day they'd been placed a hundred years prior.

This made the pilings the perfect place to build a hotel showcasing the Columbia River's beauty and ship traffic from all sides.

Every room with a view and private balcony shows off life on a working river. Guests love to watch ships passing under the Astoria-Megler Bridge just outside their windows.

On the hotel's second floor is a small museum dedicated to the area's fishing history. The museum is full of old photographs and historical artifacts which honor the area's Finnish culture. Hotel staff is also happy to talk about the area's history and the history of the hotel.

There's a lot to do and see in Astoria during your stay, and I can't think of a better weekend getaway than staying at this beautiful hotel and checking out places like the Columbia River Maritime Museum, the historic Flavel House, the Astoria Riverwalk, and the Cathedral Tree Trail, just to name a few.

Let's also not forget about all the nostalgic Goonie's filming locations you can see nearby.

Sunset Magazine rated the hotel as one of the top 25 hotels in the West, as well as the most romantic getaway on the Oregon Coast, and we can see why.

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and offer amazing views, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel offers many luxurious amenities.

One of our favorite things is the spa and exercise room. After a day exploring Astoria guests love to relax in the hot tub overlooking the pier or use the authentic Finnish Sauna. It should be noted that some amenities at the hotel may be closed due to Covid-19 regulations.
