Fall is finally here, and with it comes all the cozy traditions we wait for all year long: crisp mornings, golden leaves, and pumpkin-flavored everything. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to celebrate the season, Yesteryear Pumpkin Patch and Country Store in Oregon is opening its gates once again — and it’s even bigger in 2025.
A Free & Family-Friendly Autumn Escape
Yesteryear doesn’t charge admission, making it one of the most affordable fall outings in Oregon. Beginning September 1 and running through October 30, 2025, the patch and store welcome visitors Thursday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bring the whole family, and don’t forget your camera — there are photo-ready setups scattered across the property, perfect for fall selfies, family portraits, or your next Instagram post.
Every time we visit Yesteryear, it feels like stepping into a little slice of fall magic. In the summer we’ve clipped sunflowers to take home, and in the fall we always return for pumpkins and the corn maze. Honestly, their corn maze is one of the best values you’ll find in the Portland area, and it’s become a yearly tradition for us.
A Country Store Brimming With Seasonal Charm
Step inside the Yesteryear Country Store and you’ll be greeted by a wonderland of autumn treasures. Beyond the rows of pumpkins, you’ll find:
- Cozy décor: blankets, pillows, candles, and rustic accents for your home.
- Local goodies: pepper jelly, honey, jams, and dog treats.
- Seasonal style: fall-themed apparel, accessories, and gifts.
- Spooky fun: Halloween décor and unique items to transform your home into something festive and frightful.
The gift shop deserves its own shout-out. I’ve found everything from cozy blankets and holiday décor to jars of pepper jelly and honey. More than once I’ve walked in “just to browse” and walked out with an armload of treasures. It’s impossible not to.
Food Trucks, Characters & Weekend Fun
Weekends at Yesteryear are extra special. Starting September 21, rotating food trucks will roll in every Saturday and Sunday with delicious treats like kettle corn, pizza, donuts, churros, and more.
Fan-favorite character meet-and-greets are also back in 2025:
- The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus: September 21, October 5, October 18.
- Jack Skellington & Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas: September 22, October 6, October 20.
It’s a family-friendly blend of whimsy and spookiness that kids (and adults) adore.
Free Friday Night Movies Under The Stars
This fall, Yesteryear is bringing even more fun to the season with Free Friday Night Movies in the Pumpkin Patch, starting at dusk each Friday in September and October. Families and friends can cozy up under blankets, bring their own chairs, and enjoy seasonal favorites like Hotel Transylvania, Coraline, Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The series wraps up on Halloween night with a showing of the classic Halloween — perfect for those who love a good scare.
One of our favorite memories here was enjoying warm doughnuts while the kids played games under the string lights, then settling in for a movie on the big screen surrounded by pumpkins. It’s the kind of wholesome, cozy experience that feels like pure autumn.
What really makes Yesteryear special is the people. The staff go out of their way to make every visitor feel welcome. On one chilly, rainy day, a staff member even spread hay over puddles and offered us hot chocolate just so the kids could stay comfortable. That kind of hospitality is rare these days and makes the farm feel like home.
