A devastating house fire claimed the life of a Junction City resident on the evening of January 8th. Around 7 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fire at a residence on the 95400 block of Noraton Road, north of Junction City, following a request for assistance from fire personnel.
Tragically, a person was found deceased inside the home. The victim was later identified as 58-year-old Gordon Dale Dawson, a resident of Junction City.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office, has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Authorities have expressed gratitude for the swift response and assistance provided by the Junction City Police Department and Junction City Fire Department. The community mourns this loss as investigators work diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Updates on the investigation will be provided as more information becomes available. Our thoughts are with Mr. Dawson’s family and the local community during this difficult time.
