
Some good news for those in Oakridge or traveling in the area! With the winter storm tapering off, Oregon Highway 58 is expected to open back up to all traffic at 6 p.m. Friday evening.
With the recent snowstorm causing Governor Kate Brown to declare a state emergency, the highway between Pleasant Hill and Central Oregon was officially closed on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019.

“The road has been closed for almost five full days after a massive snow storm felled almost 1,000 trees and downed power lines throughout the corridor,” the Oregon Department of Transportation said in a statement. “Crews have worked night and day in hazardous conditions to prepare the road for safe travel.”
