I love Bandon for so many reasons. The fresh, salty air, coastal history, and charming, walkable Old Town area make this Southern Oregon Coast beach town a favorite for locals and tourists alike.
Bandon's Favorite Gathering Spot
Next time you make it down to Bandon, be sure to have our full guide article handy to read while you grab breakfast at our favorite coffee shop in town, Bandon Coffee Cafe. What started in 1995 as a small espresso bar in the heart of Old Town Bandon grew to include a bakery and coffee roaster in their current location. Pastries, cookies, and bagels are all baked on-site daily, and the cafe uses only real butter and fresh eggs in their fully customizable breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
Awesome Food, Smoothies, Espresso, and More
We really loved the Country Benedict; a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit, stacked with sausage and scrambled egg, smothered in homemade sausage gravy.
The "Yonkers" is one of Bandon Coffee Cafe's most popular menu items (that will take you straight to New York City): your choice of homebaked bagel, topped with cream cheese, capers, red onion, cucumbers, tomato, and wild-caught lox.
For lunch, try the "Cranburky Sandwich", which pays homage to Bandon's world-famous cranberry bogs (there's even an annual festival dedicated to them!). Sliced turkey breast on nine-grain bread with cream cheese, cranberry sauce, and all the fixins. It's like Thanksgiving dinner in sandwich form.
Even if you don't have time for a meal, it's always fun to grab an espresso to go as you meander your way around Old Town Bandon for the ocean views, art installations, candy shops, and souvenirs. The perfect accompaniment to the perfect Oregon coastal afternoon.
