In southeast Oregon’s sparsely-populated high desert area there stands The Pillars of Rome, a five-mile long, two-mile wide, 100-foot tall rock formation that looks astoundingly like ancient Roman ruins.
Rafting In Rome
The nearby Owyhee River is a wonderful place to go rafting in eastern Oregon. The Owyhee River takes rafters and kayakers down a both exhilarating and relaxing trek along beautiful blue waters and towering canyon walls. The local plants and animals are exciting to see, as well!
Picturing the Pillars
The sheer number of stunning photos of the Pillars is a testament to their impressive beauty. There are just so many places and angles from which to take pictures that there is practically an infinite number of shots you could capture here.
