This festive extravaganza promises a day full of wonders from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of winter at the park with guided nature hikes, where the secrets of the season's changing landscapes will unfold before your eyes. Discover the habitats of both resident and migratory birds and animals, adding a touch of wilderness to your festival experience.

The festival is brimming with activities for all ages:

  • Craft your very own wreath at the Evergreen Picnic Shelter in the South Falls day-use area. It's a perfect holiday keepsake!
  • Join in the fun of building a bird nest box at the Creekside Shelter, or make a delightful bird feeder or paper bird craft at the Stone Kitchen Shelter.
  • Engage in educational talks and guided walks at the South Falls Theater. Don't miss the exciting lineup:
    • 11 a.m.: Explore the world of Winter Hibernators on a 45-minute walk at Smith Creek Village.
    • 12 p.m.: Embark on a Mushroom ID hike for an hour of fascinating discoveries.
    • 1 p.m.: Identify winter trees on a refreshing one-hour hike.
    • 2 p.m.: Delve into a 20-minute talk, "Learn to Love a Lichen."
    • 3 p.m.: Get insights into the Winter Birds of Silver Falls in a captivating 20-minute talk.
  • Visit the discovery table near South Falls for an enlightening session on the waterfalls in winter or to learn about the winter solstice.
  • At Smith Creek Village, 1.5 miles from South Falls, decorate cookies, make paper bird crafts, or learn about winter animal tracks.
  • Participate in at least five activities to earn a commemorative Silver Falls ornament!
