In Tragic Accident, Motorcycle Rider Dies In 100 MPH Near Central Point

Around 11 AM on Friday, December 13th, 2024 a tragic motorcycle accident shut down multiple north bound lanes of Interstate 5 near Central Point, Oregon. The crash occurred around mile post 34 on I-5, and happened after a Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputy clocked the motorcycle traveling over 100 miles per hour.

The deputy turned on lights and sirens while attempting to initiate a traffic stop, and then the motorcyclist crashed into a semi truck and died. The rider was reported to have been driving recklessly by multiple people. No one else was injured in the crash. The name of the rider has not yet been released.
