SALEM, OR — In a bold escalation of political discourse, Governor Tina Kotek announced Tuesday she will be challenging former President Donald Trump to a full-on schoolyard fight at first recess, confirming the showdown will take place “by the swings, where it’s fair.”
The announcement reportedly came just minutes after Kotek published her third Facebook post of the morning regarding Trump, a routine aides describe as “part of the daily content cadence.”
“Look, sometimes words aren’t enough,” Kotek said, cracking her knuckles in what witnesses described as “surprisingly convincing form.” “At a certain point, you take it to the playground.”
Sources inside the governor’s office confirmed the challenge was drafted immediately after her latest post, which analysts say marked her 27th Trump-related update this week alone.
“There’s a natural progression,” one staffer explained. “You post, you react, you post again… and eventually you challenge someone to fight near playground equipment.”
According to insiders, the governor has already begun preparations for the event, including calling dibs on the good swing and informing close allies they are “definitely allowed to watch, but not snitch.”

Witnesses say Kotek has been seen pacing near a chalk outline of what appears to be a hopscotch court, rehearsing phrases like “you started it” and “I’m not even trying.”
Meanwhile, Trump has yet to formally respond, though sources say he is “considering bringing a dodgeball” and “questioning the swing selection.”
Political analysts were quick to weigh in on the unprecedented move.
“This represents a major shift in tone,” one expert said. “Traditionally, these disputes stayed confined to press conferences and social media. Moving it to the swings suggests a willingness to engage on a more… tactile level.”
Back in Oregon, residents expressed cautious optimism.
“Honestly, it feels productive,” said one Portland man. “Like maybe this is how things actually get resolved now.”
At press time, Kotek was reportedly drafting another Facebook post about Trump, ending with the words, “see you at recess.”
