Beginning on March 16th, 2020 the Oregon Coast Aquarium will temporarily be closed to the public for two weeks.  This closure comes as a response to Governor Brown’s executive order to cancel large gatherings to limit the spread of COVID-19.  The aquarium is expected to reopen on March 27th, 2020.  During the closure, all scheduled programs and events at the aquarium have been cancelled.

According to the Oregon Coast Aquarium’s President and CEO Carrie Lewis, “The health our staff, volunteers, visitors and our community is our top priority; our dedicated staff remain focused on the care of our animals during this time.”  Lewis also said, “We feel this is the responsible decision especially as we are entering the very busy Spring Break season.”
