Camp Sherman Campground is nestled on the banks of the beautiful Metolius River in Deschutes National Forest. It offers some of the most stunning scenery in central Oregon and easy access to an abundance of recreational activities and wildlife such as mule deer, coyote and cougar.

I have been camping here my entire life and to this day is still one of my favorite places to camp. If you want a perfect place for the whole family to camp, hike, bike, swim, and fish it doesn’t get any better than Camp Sherman. Many sites at this campground have views of the breathtaking Metolius River and a gorgeous trail that follows along the river.

Camp Sherman River

Camp Sherman Campground offers a handful of standard sites for both tent and RV camping, and one tent-only site. Each sites is equipped with a picnic table and campfire rings. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, but electrical hookups are not available. The campground is open year-round with minimal services during the off season but camp fees are reduced during the winter and early spring seasons.The camping fee includes entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle, any extra vehicles will be subject to an extra vehicle fee at the campground.

This facility is pet friendly so long as animals are picked up after and kept on their leashes.

Camp Sherman Cabin

Well, Camp Sherman offers a host of beautiful cabins to rent as well or there is always The Lodge at Suttle Lake just down the road from Camp Sherman. This upscale Northwestern-style lodge Nestled on the shores of Shuttle Lake inside Deschutes National Forest and Camp Sherman are located only 8.1 miles from the Hoodoo Ski Area and 13.7 miles from Sisters.

Camp Sherman is home of the renowned Metolius-Windigo Trail. The trail begins near the Metolius River headwaters west of the town of Sisters. The trail is over 100 miles long and is open to hiking, biking and horseback riding, so head over for a weekend and enjoy the endless activities that await you at Camp Sherman.
